Design Collaboration
ENGA has partnered with four Swiss design teams to create new product series through a collaborative, co-creation approach. By combining the designers’ creativity with ENGA’s manufacturing expertise from the very start, each product is developed to be both innovative and technically refined.
This collaboration allows design and production to closely work together, resulting in products that are visually distinctive, highly functional, and built to last. By combining creative design with manufacturing expertise, ENGA develops product series that endure over time, reducing the need for frequent replacement and reflecting a mindful approach to resources and production.
Meet the Designers
I wanted to exploit the potential of 3D printing without the designs being recognisable as additively manufactured at first glance. Instead of textured surfaces or playful, futuristic shapes, the focus is on a clear, reduced design language based on familiar typologies. Thoughtful details – such as the connecting fins of the lamp, which are subtly highlighted by the light source, or the soft edge detail of the tables, which combines recycled sheet material and filament – give the objects an unexpected depth and make them special at second glance.
Marc Gerber
Rock Family draws inspiration from rocks and their reliefs, turning everyday objects into mineral fragments. Their raw forms create natural grips, while the visible 3D-printed layers echo geological strata shaped over millennia. By confronting the slow poetry of nature with the speed of technology, the collection offers a new vision of the object: simple in function, yet rich in organic expression.
Lucie de Martin
Every manufacturing process comes with its own design challenges. In 3D printing, objects are built layer by layer, shaped by their contours. When we design for ENGA, these contours become our language. Just like in typography, proportions, line weights, and spacing define both expression and precision. Together, we create products that make an impact – layer by layer.
Elias Kopp
I focused my research on the unique possibilities of 3D printing. I began with a series of nested lamps, designed to be printed in a single process, with the forms fitting seamlessly into one another. This approach—only achievable through additive manufacturing—drives my interest: exploring what this technology alone makes possible.
