From Plastic Collection Bag to Design Objects

Insights from our Event in the House of Interios

We had the pleasure of welcoming partners, professionals, and circular-economy enthusiasts to our new space at House of Interiors in Zurich Binz. Together with Kunststoffsammelsack.ch and under the patronage of the Verband Schweizer Plastic Recycler (VSPR), we explored one central question: How do we turn mixed Swiss household plastics into high-quality, meaningful design products?

The event offered a hands-on journey through the realities of Swiss plastic recycling and the opportunities emerging from a truly circular value chain.

Kurt Röschli, President of the Swiss Plastic Recyclers Association -  presented current insights and future perspectives on plastic recycling in Switzerland.

Isolde Erny, AWEL Office for Waste, Water, Energy and Air of the Canton of Zurich - talked about the evolution of recycling systems in the Canton of Zurich and what the next steps look like.

Ivo Baldini, founder of Kunststoffsammelsack.ch - talked about his 14 years of experience operating the post-consumer plastic collection system.

Gildas Höllmüller, Founder of ENGA - explained the journey of ENGA’s approach to closing the loop by transforming recycled materials into interior design objects.

The evening closed with an open discussion and a lively Apéro Riche, giving space for networking and exchange on future collaborations.

We thank all speakers and participants for contributing to an inspiring and forward-looking gathering.
